Tanah Abang

Old oplet kernet operating across Tanah Abang-Kebayoran Lama yell "call sign": Nabang, Nabang, or Pterospermum, Pterospermum, to encourage prospective passengers. Kernet saying it was right that judging from the corner of history.

A painting of Johannes Rach Tanah Abang describe the panorama of the period. Apparently the painting was made from the Jl. Abdul Muis. Tanah Abang in the form of a hill overgrown trees. The title painting "Nabang". Until the late 19th century, this place called Nabang, and in formal writing given particle "de" that became De Nabang.

Until now the Betawi people call it as a play on the Tenabang De Nabang, consonant D into T. Nabang is the name of the trees on the hill. Nabang, or Tenabang, turned into Tanah Abang train station after the building in 1890. Tenabang railroad company considers it came from Tanah Abang. Then the name was officially used in the railway station. Station manager likely came from Java, he thought it was wrong Tenabang mention, then he tried to "straighten out".

Then the day came the "commentators" who say that Tanah Abang red soil. "Expert commentary" is probably going to uniformity toponym Tenabang with Red Pal, the area nearby. Red Pal obvious from the street boundary (pal) in red.
